Biography

Dr. Xia was awarded his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Technologies from the Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an, China, in 2007. Since January 2007, he has been working as a postdoctoral fellow at the Biomedical & Multimedia Information Technology (BMIT) Research Group, School of Information Technologies, University of Sydney. His research interests include image processing, medical image analysis, multimedia, pattern recognition, machine learning and data mining. He has published over 40 scholarly research papers and received the Chinese Computer Federation (CCF) Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award (2007). He is a member of IEEE and a reviewer of several leading international conferences and journals.
