Open "Printers and Faxes" via "Start" > click on the "Printers and Faxes" option OR "Start" > "Control Panel" > click on the "Printers and Faxes" option
Click on the "Add a printer" option
Click on the "Next >" button
Select "Local printer attached to this computer" option
Deselect "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer" option
Click on the "Next >" button
Scroll through the list of "Use the following port:" options to see if \\itsmb\<printer you have to add> is there
If it is, select it
If it isn't, select the "Create a new port:" option
Select type "Local Port"
Click on the "Next >" button
Enter the name '\\itsec\<printer you have to add>' and click on the "OK" button
In the 'Manufacturer' box, select the manufacturer (typically 'HP')
In the 'Printers' box, select the model (typically 'HP LaserJet 4100 PS' - PostScript drivers are preferred)
If the manufacturer or model options are not there:
Click on the "Windows Update" button - this will update both manufacturer and model lists and may take up to 10 minutes to complete
OR click on the "Have Disk..." button and navigate to the driver files (usually obtained from the manufacturer's website or supplied installation media)
Click on the "Next >" button
Replace the "Printer name:" with the name of the printer you are adding eg. pr1-110
If desired, select "Yes" option to set the printer as the default, otherwise select "No" option
Click on the "Next >" button
Select "Do not share this printer" option
Click on the "Next >" button
Do not print a test page, select "No" option
Click on the "Next >" button
Click on the "Finish" button
Right click on the added printer and select "Properties" option
"Device Settings" Tab
Set the paper sizes to "A4"
Set the "Send CTRL-D After Each Job" option to "No"
Set the "Duplex Unit" option to "Installed"
Click on the "Apply" button
"Advanced" Tab
Click on the "Printing Defaults..." button
"Layout" tab
In the "Print On Both Sides" section, select "Flip on Long Edge" option to enable 2-sided printing
Click on the "OK" button
"General" Tab
Click on the "Print Test Page" button to print a test page (optional)
Open "Devices and Printers" via "Start" > "Devices and Printers" and choose "Add a printer" option
Click on the "Add a local printer" option
Scroll through the list of "Use an existing port:" option to see if \\itsec\<printer you have to add> is there
If it is, select it
If it isn't, select "Create a new port:" option
Choose type "Local Port"
Click on the "Next" button
Enter the name '\\itsec\<printer you have to add>' and click on the "OK" button
In the 'Manufacturer' box, select the manufacturer (typically 'HP')

Deselect sharing
Do not print a test page
If desired, select the printer as the default, otherwise uncheck "Set as the default printer" option
Click on the "Finish" button
Right click on the added printer and select "Printer Properties" option
"Device Settings" Tab
Set the paper sizes to "A4"
Set Duplex Unit for 2-sided printing to "Installed"
Click on the "Apply" button
"Advanced" Tab
Click on the "Printing Defaults..." button
"Finishing" tab
Check "Print On Both Sides" option
Click on the "OK" button
"General" Tab
Click on the "Print Test Page" button to print a test page (optional)
