The School of Information Technologies is working to foster relationships with schools, teachers and school students around NSW, and Australia.
Below is a summary of the activities the School of Information Technologies at the University of Sydney will be running for high school students and teachers in 2011-12.

| Girls' Programming Network | |
| Who: | For academically gifted female students in Year 9-12, with or without programming experience. |
| When: |
Meetings run on Tuesdays from 4:30pm until 6:30pm. The dates for the meetings for Term 2 2011 are as follows: |
| Where: | School of IT Building, University of Sydney |
| Cost: | $55 per student per term (including GST) |
| NCSS Challenge | |
| Who: | High school students (Year 9 onwards) and teachers who want to learn Python |
| When: | The NCSS Challenge runs for 5 weeks, commencing on Monday 1st August 2011. |
| Where: | Online at www.challenge.ncss.edu.au |
| Cost: | $20 per student or teacher (including GST) |
| Teachers free if students are participating at the same school. | |
| National Computer Science School (2012) | |
| Who: | Year 11 (and some Year 10) students and teachers |
| When: | Saturday 7th - Monday 16th January, 2012 |
| Where: | School of IT and The Women's College, University of Sydney |
| Cost: | $360 per student or teacher (including GST) |
