How can I activate my student account?

During the first four weeks of semester, a Help Desk will be running in the Postgraduate computer lab from 5-9pm Mon to Thur. The staff at the Help Desk can activate your student account.

If you are having difficulty with your account or password at other times, the School Duty Programmer may be able to assist. Please enquire at Reception (level 2).

Where can I get careers advice?

Can I study part-time?

All international students are required to be enrolled full-time (without exceptions). Full time study is normally 24 credit points per semester (4 Units of Study).

Local students (Australian citizens or permanent residents), are able to study part-time or full-time. Part-time study is normally 6 or 12 credit points per semester (1-2 Units of Study).

Are scholarships available for postgraduate coursework study?

Unfortunately there are no scholarships available at this present time. In general the University does not employ postgraduate coursework students.

Will I be given credit for previous study?

Credit is not given for previous study at other universities, or for study undertaken in courses at the University of Sydney, other than those mentioned below:

for the GCIT, GDIT and MIT, credit is only available for study undertaken within these award courses within the previous three years and for which no award has been conferred. If an award has been conferred, only 12 credit points of study in these award courses can be credited;

for the GCITM, GDITM and MITM, credit is only available for study undertaken within these award courses within the previous three years and for which no award has been conferred. If an award has been conferred, only 12 credit points of study in these award courses can be credited.
